Frequently asked questions

The questions people usually ask.

If you're wondering about something before you reach out, you'll probably find it here. And if you don't, just ask us.

Sessions typically range from £50 to £80 depending on the therapist you choose and the type of support you need. We'll always be clear about the fee before you begin, so there are never any surprises.

No. You can come to us directly, with no GP referral and no waiting list. Just send us a message and we'll call you back within two working days.

We offer therapy online across the whole of Northern Ireland, by video, phone or WhatsApp. That means you can be matched with the right therapist for you, wherever you live.

For most people and most concerns, yes. Research shows online therapy is just as effective as face to face for things like anxiety, low mood and stress. It's the same qualified therapist and the same depth of support, just without the travel.

Send us a short message with your name, a number to reach you on, and a little about what's going on. A real person will call you back within two working days to talk it through and match you with a suitable therapist. Get in touch here.

There's no waiting list. We call you back within two working days, and your first session can usually be arranged soon after, at a time that suits you.

Yes. Every therapist at Glen & Oak is fully qualified and registered with a recognised professional body, with proof of their qualifications, training and insurance. We keep our standards high because the people who come to us deserve genuinely good therapy.

Yes. What you share stays private between you and your therapist, within the normal professional and legal limits, which your therapist will explain clearly at the start. Nothing is shared without you knowing.

It's gentler than people expect. The first session is mostly your therapist getting to know you and what you'd like help with. It's a conversation, not an interrogation, and you'll never be asked to talk about anything you're not ready to.

There's no set answer. Some people come for a few sessions to work through something specific, others stay longer. There's no cap and no lock in. You decide what's right for you as you go.

Your therapist or our team will explain how payment works when you book. It's simple and handled directly, with no awkward conversations about money in the session itself.

We ask for reasonable notice if you need to cancel or rearrange, and your therapist will explain their specific policy when you start. Life happens, and we'd always rather you talked to us than simply didn't turn up.

We match you carefully based on what you tell us, because the right fit is most of what makes therapy work. If it doesn't feel right, just tell us and we'll gladly help you find someone who suits you better.

It happens, and it's nothing to feel bad about. Just let us know and we'll help you find someone better suited. There's no awkwardness and no starting from scratch on your own.

Yes. You can meet your therapist by video, by phone, or by WhatsApp, whichever feels most comfortable. Many people find it easier to open up when they don't have to be on camera, and that's completely valid.

No. We're not an emergency service and can't respond straight away. If you need urgent help, please contact 999, the Samaritans on 116 123, or Lifeline on 0808 808 8000, all available 24 hours a day. More urgent support here.

Not at all. Many people come simply knowing that something feels off. Working out what's underneath it is part of the therapy, not something you need to have solved before you start.

We support people with anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, grief and loss, trauma, relationship difficulties, addiction and much more. See how we help. If what's on your mind isn't listed, get in touch and we'll help you find the right support.

Still have a question? Just ask.

Send a short message and a real person will call you back within two working days. No pressure, no commitment.
